Here's the 0 release of StudioRack, v0.00 alpha build 4. It allows you to get a feel for the skin, the new display (lacking any feedback I did this one myself ) and of course to test the new audio engine. Feedback in the General Discussion forums please. And let's not forget to have fun, so if you have a setup with an external mixer, load some clips in StudioRack, fire up CastBlaster (or any other recorder) and record and post your first StudioRack mp3 http://studiorack.com/download/InstallStudioRack.exe

This new release should give you a better feel of what I am planning with StudioRack. You'll clearly see it's a rack that you can fill with the modules you require for a task. Of course, at this point there are only 2 modules to choose from, but you can already build a nice cart player. Note you can now dynamically add/remove modules, replace them and align them should you want a nice clean layout. Besides fixing some bugs I also added the Shortcut and Title options to the players and count up/down selection (click the display). Feedback in the General Discussion forums please. And let's not forget to have fun, so if you have a setup with an external mixer, load some clips in StudioRack, fire up CastBlaster (or any other recorder) and record and post your first StudioRack mp3 on the forum! http://studiorack.com/download/InstallStudioRack.exe

This third alpha version supports drag & drop. You can drag one or more files to the rack's frame and players with the files already loaded will be auto placed. Drop multiple files in the rack and the same happens. Drop one file in the rack and the player will be created at that position. Drop one or more files in a player and the first file will be loaded in the player, any more files will create more players. You can choose the player for auto placement. Removed some bugs, made some small improvements and added fast fade in/out to the players. Added support for profiles ((re)store entire rack for a particular project/show). Slightly increased the size of the title (Barry?).

This fourth alpha version introduces the new Recorder module. This is a basic recorder to record external inputs. Together with the players you now have a fully functional program if you add an external mixer. I also fixed some bugs in drag & drop, in player 2u's shortcut, and designed a new peak meter. Also did some changes to the skin's lighting, the module panel, and improved behaviour of the popup menus and dragging of modules. Feedback in the General Discussion forums please. And let's not forget to have fun, so whether you make a short recording or a long show, please do post a link on the forum! http://studiorack.com/download/InstallStudioRack.exe

StudioRack v0.01 is the first beta version, yes, I've stopped alpha version counting as I feel StudioRack is mature enough to be called a real beta version. Several audio shows have been produced with it after all.. This version of StudioRack introduces the AV Client module. Though specifically created for a company that will be selling it pre-installed on special hardware, I feel it is also a great addition to the range of modules I have in mind for StudioRack. The AV Client is an easy to use module that can be used to stream video to a Windows Media Server. Once set up, one button is all it takes to 'go live'. This release also marks a major change in the original spec of the program: I have decided to add video capability as well. I feel the combination can result in a very powerful tool. Other additions to this version are the Module|Options|Mount Vertically option, and the ability to use your mouse scroll wheel to change the volume fader of player 1u and 2u. Feedback in the General Discussion forums please. And let's not forget to have fun, so whether you make a short recording or a long show, or stream live video, please tell us on the forum! http://studiorack.com/download/InstallStudioRack.exe

StudioRack v0.01b20 introduces the ID3 Tag Editor, a handy module that can be used to examine ID3 tags in mp3 files. The tags can be optionally edited, or created from scratch, and written to an mp3 file. In addition to this, I have also made some changes to the Recorder (the session file is (re)stored and a seperate Save button has been added) and I fixed some bugs. Feedback in the General Discussion forums please. StudioRack v0.02 beta includes a revised Recorder that is always on, i.e. the peak meter is always active. Also the recorder's fader can now be controlled with the mouse wheel, when you pause the recording the Record button's light turns yellow, and when you stop a recording its length is displayed. The AVClient now has video input selection and an Auto Streaming option. Other smaller improvements were added as well as several bugs have been fixed. StudioRack v0.04 beta introduces the Timer module. A very basic version right now, as I wanted to get it out asap. As it is now you can use it to start a player at a certain interval after recording has started. If you need different functionality, don't hesitate to let me know. A loop feature has been added to both players, and their volume settings are now restored. The Upload module's server and file settings are now also restored. I've also added some intelligence to the way directories are chosen when loading or saving files. Please note this version has had some major internal rewrites, as I needed to simplify the way I store settings. As a result I may have introduced some new bugs. Also note I am slowely increasing the protection shell around the program. If this conflicts with any other program (you'd see a debugger error of sorts), please let me know too. Feedback in the General Discussion forums please. StudioRack v0.05 adds a Fade Out option and support for AIFF and AIFC file formats to the players, recording in WAV format to the recorder, improved module positioning and a lot of bug fixes. I also changed the default fade in & out in the players from 100 ms to 50 ms. Feedback in the General Discussion forums please. StudioRack v0.07 is the first public beta. It's built using a new development tool, includes code to handle registration and fixes some bugs. I also added a Picture option to the AV Client, enabling you to stream a picture instead of video. Note there are now three editions of StudioRack: Trial (everything enabled but the Load Profile command), Audio (does not include the AV Client) and Pro (all features enabled). Feedback in the appropriate forums please. And let's not forget to have fun, so whether you make a short recording or a long show, or stream live video, please tell us about it here on the forum. Thanks! Download link, order a license here.
