Well, since I am the first member I thought I'd be the first to introduce me Smiley

My name is Mike Versteeg, I guess most of you will know me as creator of CastBlaster. Check out mikeversteeg.com to read some more personal stuff about me and see links to most of my projects.

StudioRack is not something new. Some 20 years ago I developed and later sold the PCIO project. This was a modular hardware project consisting of interface cards plugged into a 19" rack. The PCIO bus was connected to the PC with a serial cable. The interfaces could be used to control other hardware, in- and output audio etc. Each interface had its own piece of software, truely a modular concept. Skipping 18 years into the future, I met Adam Curry and developed CastBlaster. I quickly realized there is not a single audio program that can satisfy everyone, and the modular idea came back. Paths briefly crossed with two other audio enthusiasts who were looking for a programmer for their professional podcast application. The program was non-existing, merely a professional drawn UI, but I immediately recognized the power of a modular audio program together with a professionally looking user interface. The encounter was brief, but strengthened my belief in a modular audio production system. And so, StudioRack was born Grin

PS: those of you who have seen VidBlaster may recognize my modular approach in there as well.

Hey Mike!

I'm Arno Lubbinge, a full time voice actor from the Netherlands. The active, proud users of CastBlaster know me as "the voice" of the CastBlaster jingles. I also did some promos for WinPodder and an intro for your Testing123 vidcast (coming soon, Mike..?). Besides these fun assigments I am one of the voices of the daily newsprogram Hart van Nederland and some other shows on SBS6.

At home, I have my own little audio studio. I use Protools 7.3 LE ( hardware: Digi002 and Command 8 ), and have a soundproof vocal booth with a Rode NT2 mike and Symetrix 528E pre-amp. I use the studio primarily for recording voice-overs, but I sometimes do sounddesign for TV commercials.

I'm married to Mieke, and have a son and a daughter of 3 and 2 years old.

Regards,

Arno

Hi all,

My name is Barry Furnival and I have 3 podcasts: Radio QRM, Instrumental QRM and now Video QRM. I live in a small town called Jaffrey, which is in the amateur radio enthusiast. I have been interested in audio since the days when I was a little kid making fake radio shows on a small cassette tape recorder. That lead up to my college days where my roommate and I had the morning drive show at our college radio station, WCUR in West Chester, Pa. The fun ended after college... until podcasting showed up. Now I've put together a small home studio with a Behringer Eurorack UB1222FX-Pro mixer board, an Alesis 3630 compressor/limiter, a Nady SDP-20 multi-effects processor and three MXL 990 mics. Software: CastBlaster (of course), VidBlaster, Audition, iMovie and GarageBand (yes, I have a mac too). I also use Photoshop Elements to edit my show covers. When I'm not working or podcasting, you will find me hiking the many trail of New Hampshire with my wife, Ann Marie and my dog, Mishka, shopping for gadgets or just having a beer with my buddy and fellow podcaster, Jash.

Well I guess I should say hello too Smiley

The name is Lance Thackeray. I'm from England and I soon turn 20 years old. I have lots of experience in both music and graphics. Photoshop is one of my key talents as well as electronic audio production.

My Photoshop work includes interface, site design, forum design and general digital art. You may see my online interface portfolio here. Mike actually contacted me after finding a couple of my interfaces online and asked me if I would like to work on this new project with him and design its skin. Unfortunately, I had to eventually say no for numerous reasons. And I'm still sorry for keeping you waiting that long Mike! However, seen as there seems to be more of a physical team emerging, I just might keep myself active with this project and help out wherever I can wether it be with graphics or audio.

OK I may as well quickly sell myself and talk about experience! Smiley Music has been my master source for creative outlet. Ive been making music since about 11 years old to the present day. I've used many different audio programs on the way so I guess I would be a valuable member as far as beta testing and anything else audio related. But like I say, wherever there is room for help, I'll be at the front of the queue! Helping people is awesome Wink

OK so enough about this ol' soul. I look forward to getting to know you guys a little more. Bye for now!

Peace, Lance

I've learned a lot in interface design at uni and have descent photoshop skills (but nowhere near that of pure...)
I designed houses, boats, jewelry, mobile phones and everything in between.

As the newest newbie here here's a few words about me.

My name is Paul Parkinson, I am an active podcaster and am Editor of Podcast User Magazine - that is until close of business today when Issue 17 comes out on May 1 when Mark Hunter of the Tartan Podcast takes over.

I used CastBlaster for all my podcasts until I "upgraded" my rig to use an external firewire sound box (Edirol FA101) after which I couldn't get it to work again! My bad for "upgrading" eh! I miss CastBlaster. A lot.

I hope I can add value to what's going on here and help Mike to keep developing the best podcast-friendly software out there.

Thanks Mike.

All the best

Paul

Dammit I'm late again.

Hi I'm Chris, I was breaking Mike's balls about a VST compatible system on one of my Podcasts, which I like to think got some momentum going on, the AC Podcast.

It's cause I love Castblaster so much, but feel naked in the live processing department.

Castblasters strength is the live feature, which is why I want live feature but with VST support. I can use ProTools or Cubase for post prod, but having a LIVE podcasters app would rock.

I'm an academic and run Audiocourses.com.

Worked as a musician and studio recording engineering for years.

More about me here:

Did I say I like working a podcast in a live fashion?

Hello all... I'm Jim Farley... I have a small demo studio in Ohio. I'm an arranger, composer & orchestrator.
I do two podcasts: What's Up With That? & MusicalWorld. (of which the latter is on a hiatus) I've used Castblaster in the past until having firewire issues as well... I'm always on the look out for new software that can make my job easier. I'm hoping that StudioRack is one of those items!

Hi Jim!

Hehe, I realize that I've been visiting this forum for quite awhile -- and participate from time to time -- but have never posted my "introduction."

I live about twenty minutes south of Jim Farley.  Okay, 'nuff said.  Cheesy

Actually, I'm a singer/songwriter with a background in radio and television broadcasting.  I've worked in media relations for the past 20+ years.  When I'm not recording music in my home studio, I do voiceover work, jingle production and I'm a "new media" (heh) producer.

My shows are:
Audio Gumshoe
Blogs, Views and Blues
Washington Township Fire Department's Safety Update
and I think I'm going to be starting a new video cast called "Ask a Safety Guy"

Cheers!

Hi,

Last Saturday June the 7th, I recorded episode 070 of the StamPodCast with StudioRack, before # 070 I used CastBlaster since October 2005 to record my shows.
But let me introduce myself first, I'll try to put the first recording story in the proper place with a link to the show.

My name is Rob, I'm Dutch, (podcasts are in English) I live Groningen in the Netherlands with my wife Gerda, my daughter Chica, 3 cats, 3 rats and a rooster with 8 chickens.

I'm a professional acrobat and pyromaniac who loves music and like to share the stuff I find on the net, I have no radio or other audio background, I did play guitar and drums for a while in school bands and with friends, but that was long long ago, let's say mid sixties. (yes I'm an old fart Grin)

I like StudioRack so far.
My shows? the StamPodCast and the XtraTranceCast both music podcasts.
